Lizzo’s got the “Juice”!

The 31-year-old singer/rapper performed an energetic rendition of her hit song “Juice” at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Monday. Her performance featured a sample of the “Joyful, Joyful” number by Lauryn Hill from Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit.

Staging the performance like the climactic scene of Sister Act 2 where her choir back up dancers take off their robes, Lizzo blew everyone away--especially Jada Pinkett Smith, who can be seen dancing in the audience.

Lizzo has been riding on a wave of success with her major label debut album, ‘Cuz I Love You, which has garnered positive reviews by several critics. “As she testifies all over the album, it was difficult work for Lizzo to learn that she’s her own hero. But it just takes listening to Cuz I Love You to make her yours.” Rolling Stone’s review acclaimed.

Lizzo posted a clip of the performance on her Instagram, thanking her team for bringing her favorite movie to life in her first awards show performance.

“I PAID HOMAGE TO MY FAVORITE MOVIE AT THE @mtvmovieaward !!! SISTER ACT 2 !!! Thank you @quinnwilsonn@jemelmcwilliams @marko_monroe@theshelbyswain @iwantalexx@mrdevinaire @phlemuns @nike ALL THE DANCERS | TEAM LIZZO PRODUCTION | THANK U @MTV!
